Johnny Rocket the Return of the Laughing Abyss part 2

Neon City was finally quiet.

Too quiet.

Johnny Rocket Man stood on the rooftop staring at the skyline, rocket boots humming softly. Confetti still drifted through the air from the destroyed carnival—but it wasn’t fading. It was floating upward.

“That ain’t normal,” Johnny muttered.

Ratman popped his head out of an air vent, chewing loudly.

“Nothing good ever floats UP, boss.”

Suddenly, every screen in the city flickered on.

A face appeared.

King Chuckles… smiling wider than before.

“HAHAHAHA! You thought it was over?” the clown’s voice echoed, distorted and deep. “You only destroyed my BODY. Now meet my TRUE FORM.”

The sky cracked open like glass.

From the rift poured shadow clowns—tall, silent, their smiles carved into darkness. No honking. No laughing.

Just watching.

Koby slammed his laptop shut. “Okay, yeah—this is bad. My tech can’t read them. It’s like they’re not… real.”

Ivanna’s eyes glowed brighter than ever. “They’re feeding on fear. The more scared the city gets, the stronger they become.”

Joe clenched his fists. “Then we don’t let people panic.”

Ratman cracked his neck. “Good luck with that. I panic professionally.”

The ground shook as a massive figure rose from the rift—The Laughing Abyss, a towering nightmare of clown masks fused together, all whispering at once.

Johnny ignited his rockets. “Alright team—same rules. Don’t blink. Don’t listen. And absolutely—”

The Abyss screamed.

Every hero froze.

Visions slammed into their minds.

Johnny saw Neon City burning… his rocket crashing… his crew gone.

Koby saw himself fail—every screen black.

Joe saw everyone he ever protected fall.

Ivanna staggered, clutching her head. “It’s attacking our minds!”

Ratman dropped to one knee… then started laughing.

Everyone turned.

Ratman stood up slowly, eyes glowing red.

“Ohhh,” he said, smiling way too wide. “You clowns picked the WRONG dude to mess with.”

The Abyss recoiled.

Koby stared. “Why isn’t it affecting him?”

Ratman cracked his knuckles. “Because I’ve BEEN crazy. Fear don’t live here.”

He charged straight into the shadows, ripping masks apart with raw, feral strength.

Johnny snapped out of it. “That’s our opening!”

Joe launched forward, clearing civilians and smashing shadow clowns into nothingness.

Koby rerouted every billboard, phone, and screen in the city—broadcasting hope, jokes, music, anything but fear.

Ivanna rose, power blazing.

“If fear feeds it…” she said, “then courage will starve it.”

Johnny Rocket Man rocketed straight into the Abyss’s core.

“For Neon City!”

“For the crew!”

“For NOT CLOWNS!”

BOOM.

Light exploded across the sky.

The Laughing Abyss shattered—masks falling like broken mirrors before dissolving into dust.

Silence returned.

The rift closed.

Ratman wiped his face. “So uh… I might’ve enjoyed that.”

Johnny laughed, clapping him on the back. “You saved us, man.”

Ivanna smiled softly. “The world isn’t just safe because of power… it’s safe because of people like us.”

Joe looked toward the horizon. “This wasn’t random. Something bigger is coming.”

Koby nodded. “And whatever it is… it’s watching.”

Far away, deep in the void, a single red nose floated… and beeped.

TO BE CONTINUED…
